2011 Muscle Car Rally

The Muscle Car Rally is a four day Road Rally Event traveling to the premier Historic Touring Car Racing and Muscle Car Festival in Australia, Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek Raceway NSW.

Organisers? Organised by Motoring Events Management, the event will combine a variety of driving, transport and observation events over four days touring through North East Victoria, the ACT and the Southern Tablelands of NSW with the finish at Goulburn before the offer of attending the Muscle Car Masters, 3 – 4 September 2011 at Eastern Creek Raceway, NSW.

When? Starting Monday 29 August through to Thursday 1 September 2011.

Where? The Rally will involve a balanced schedule with ‘Touring’ and ‘Speed’ sub-events. 
  • The Event starts with a comprehensive Event Briefing at Winton on the Mondaymorning before the first day of competition at Winton Raceway. Then follows a transport section traveling to the first overnight stop in Albury/Wodonga. 
  • Tuesday will start with an Observation Section traveling from Albury/Wodonga via the Lake Hume and Murray Valley’s to Corryong Airport for Auto-Tests, 400m and 1000m Sprints. A Transport Section will then take Competitors from Corryong to the Snowy Mountains for the “Alpine Dinner” and the Tuesday night stop. 
  • Wednesday  Competitors will transport to Canberra and the Sutton Road Driver Training Complex for Auto-Tests and Sprints. Crews will then have an Observation Section to the Wednesday night stop in Goulburn. 
  • Thursday is a full day at the Wakefield Park circuit (near Goulburn) for the final day of Competition. Wakefield Park will host Auto-Tests, Hillclimb, Half Circuit Sprints and Full Circuit Sprints to finish off the Competitive sections of the Event. A Presentation Dinner will be held in Goulburn on the Thursday night.
  • Friday will allow Competitors a free day to travel to Sydney to prepare for the Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek. 
  • Saturday and Sunday will include a Rally Display area, Pit Lane Corporate Suite and tickets to the “Muscle Car Masters Legends Dinner” on Saturday night, depending on entry level.
Entry? The Event shall be open to: Drivers that are holders of a current Civil Licence issued by a State or Territory of the Commonwealth of Australia and an Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (AASA) Club Licence or similar. Co-Driver/Crew must also hold an AASA Club Licence or similar. “Crew only” do not have to be holders of a current Civil Licence. AASA Licence Applications are available from www.aasa.com.au
How Many?
 Entry will be limited to 50 Crews (with a maximum of 20 Co- Drivers), first in best-dressed etc… The Organisers cannot ‘save’ a spot for an entrant. Events? Circuit Sprints and speed sub-events will combine both the horsepower and agility features of the competing cars with a balance of ‘wide open’ and ‘tightish’ layouts. Auto-Test events, offer the ultimate test as car, driver and crew, work as one, accelerating, braking and negotiating the set course, through gates, against the stop watch.

How Much?
 

  • Level One. Driver/Crew Entry is $1485.00 including GST. Driver/Co-Driver Entry is $1785.00 including GST.
  • Level Two. Driver/Crew Entry is $1685.00 including GST. Driver/Co-Driver Entry is $1985.00 including GST. Level Two Entry Fee includes 2 x Admission Credentials and RallyVehicle Display Area at the Muscle Car Masters.
  • Level Three. Driver/Crew Entry is $2085.00 including GST. Driver/Co-Driver Entryis $2385.00 including GST. Level Three Entry Fee includes 2 x Admission Credentials, 2 x Pit Lane Corporate Suite Credentials (Sunday), Rally Vehicle Display Area at the Muscle Car Masters and 2 x tickets to the “Muscle Car Masters Legends Dinner” on Saturday night.
Co-Driver Entry? The Co-Driver Entry will allow for both the nominated ‘Driver’ and ‘Co-Driver’ to compete in all ‘driving sub-events’ scoring points towards the ‘Drivers and Co-Driver’ Awards. For the Observation sub-events, the Observation score will be added to the nominated Drivers scores for the “Overall Crew Awards”. The Co-Driver Entry is an additional $300.00 (inc GST) to the selected Entry level.
Eligible Vehicles?
 Open to all manufacturer produced vehicles that fall into the broad and generally recognised description of “Muscle Cars”. Categories are proposed to be based on year of manufacture being pre 1964, 1965 – 1974, 1975 – 1986 and 1987 – 1992. There will also be an “invited” category for selected cars. Capacity and individual make/model classes will be determined by the Entry.

Roads?
 All sub-events will be conducted on bitumen roads and sealed venues. Some access roads to venues may be unsealed.

Accommodation?
 The Organisers will provide an Accommodation Listing for the overnight stops in Benalla, Albury/Wodonga, Snowy Mountains, and Goulburn (2 nights), or you can arrange your own. Accommodation for the Muscle Car Masters Festival is available in Parramatta, Blacktown and Rooty Hill.

Meals?
 Luncheon each day and morning and afternoon teas where applicable are provided. There will be an Evening Meal function on Tuesday night in the Snowy Mountains and the Rally Presentation Dinner on Thursday night in Goulburn. Additional Crew Meals and Presentation Dinner places can be arranged with the Organisers. For the “Muscle Car Masters Legends Dinner” on Saturday night and the Pit Lane Corporate Suite (Sunday) refer “Level Three Event Entry”

Maps and Observations?
 Crews will be provided with maps suitable to follow the suggested route for the Rally Event. When an “Observation Section” forms part of a Transport Section, instructions will refer to the maps provided. “GPS” and other navigational aids are permitted in competing vehicles.

Expression of Interest?
 Available for download are the proposed Event ScheduleEvent Regulations and an Event Entry “Expression of Interest” Form.

Entry Form?
 The Event Entry Form will be sent to interested Competitors prior to 18 April 2011. Entry closes Friday 5 August 2011.

Licences / Credentials?
 All crew must have at least the AASA Club Licence (or similar). Licences must be presented at Credentials at Scrutiny or Sign-On as well as a Current Drivers Licence, (where applicable) and Vehicle Registration documents. This must be strictly enforced, the Event Officials must sight the credentials and failure to present any of the documents will mean a non-start to the Event.
